Mr. Nurmela is a business consultant & Coach who has real-world experience. As an entrepreneur for over 20 years he has built non-profit and for profit corporations (both shareholder and privately held) from ground level to multi-million dollar organizations. Denis has served on many advisory councils, including on a congressional advisory board for the national emergency alert system in Washington D.C. During his peak performance years he still found time to read eight to ten business or self improvement books per month.
He has established the legal structures for a variety of companies: Corporations, LLCs Sole Proprietorships, partnerships and non-profit associations and has worked in highly regulated industries. He also has experience filing for patents and trademarks.
His experience includes fund-raising, marketing, advertising, grants, responding to government and military RFPs, QIRs and RFIs. Subcontracting as a government vendor was also in his background. He has the ability to write business plans targeted toward bank loans, investors or potential shareholders. He can show you how to read financial statement, is a great facilitator for goal planning retreats and can teach you what type of internal financial and milestone reports to use.
Obviously he also has had a large involvement with HR, employee motivation, team building and business expansion. He sits on a several governing boards of non-profits and is involved with chambers of commerce. While his coaching and training seminars are available to any company around the world, he has an affinity to help businesses leaders succeed in his local home of the Inland Empire in California.
His bachelor and master degree work is in Leadership and Organizational Studies from Azusa Pacific University. He is also a doctrinal candidate in business administration with emphasis in entrepreneurship with Walden University.
Denis has vast experience online as well. He navigated the internet before the mouse was invented using UNIX commands. In 1996 he founded a non-profit organization, Daily Words of Wisdom, which is dedicated to sending inspirational messages to thousands around the world every day in many languages. He also founded The Association for Gifted Youth; a foundation dedicated to encouraging child prodigy musicians by providing an opportunity to perform their talents in high visibility venues.
Denis has been an active member of Vistage, the world’s largest CEO membership organization. He is sought after as a business consultant, speaker, and is a freelance business writer. Denis understands many businesses and knows which business systems work best in various industries. Many business consultants coach with the cookie-cutter approach.
